Text description provided by the architects. In Tupi-Guarani, "taba" means city and "etê" means important or large. The chosen location to house the activities and exhibition space for a family of visual artists was Jardim Tabaeté. A characteristic of the neighborhood was a typical two-slope house with an ancillary building on a generous lot.

The challenge was to construct while preserving the existing buildings, which housed the artists' collection. The position of the house allowed for the configuration of an access plaza, and its lateral setbacks created a porch and the studio itself.

In contrast to the existing masonry structures, the intervention was made with a unique metal roof, spanning the sides of the lot, and translucent and opaque vertical closures. The single-pitched roof is supported by the property lines and a central trussed beam on concrete pillars, differentiating periods and exposing time.

The reading of the different times is also evidenced by the exposed concrete beam that outlines the perimeter, finishing off the old and embracing the new. After the new roof was executed, the roof of the old house was removed, allowing the use of its slab as a space for storing the artists' collection.

The studio space is configured from the street to the backyard, with the showcase facing the neighborhood. In it, exhibition, production, and coexistence are integrated in a flexible manner.
